WHO WE AREOptometric Association of the Philippines received the breath of life in 1936. It was reorganized in 1948. In 1979, it merged with other small organizations, contributing its 36 chapter societies throughout the integration. In 1999, the pillars of the Optometric profession composed of past international and national presidents, directors and regional governors withdrew from the merger. This led to the rebirth of the OAP.

Although I felt, I was ill equipped to attend such a conference , Dr. Melissa Anglo and Dr. Net Soltura convinced me and Dr. Bernadette Fellazar to give it a go. And so we did. Listening to the speakers at the start was confounding but as the lecture progresses , the accent didn't pose a problem anymore. After every topic is a quiz that I thought of not taking as it was optional , because I was not confident enough that I got it right. Dr. Net said " Fear not, just take it " .
Well , I tried and here's my result at first take --

The passing score is 5 and Doc Net said one can retake . I was fine with 7. That for me was great experience- overcoming one obstacle - fear. Lesson here - let's not be afraid of conferences or tests , as long as one listens attentively, surely one will get some learning.
This definitely is also true with life.
